"How do you get this bloody thing to close?" came Merlin’s frustrated demand from the living room.
Gwen cracked her bedroom door, poking her head around the frame and dripping water all over the carpet. She could see him there, crouched on the floor in front of her television stand as she’d left him nearly thirty minutes earlier, trying to put on some music.

Christmas Day is here and the final part of the Merlin's Keep Holiday Gift has been posted. This final part is over 300 Super Hi-res Promotional Photos from Series 2. Pretty much every photo in our Series 2 gallery is now available much bigger than before. The super hi-res ones we posted last September have been replaced by some that seem a bit more colorful. There are no unseen photos, but you can now see what you saw before in much more detail.

Disclaimer/References: Merlin belongs to the BBC. Based on the episode “Sweet Dreams” but also refers to episodes throughout series 1 and 2.
Word count: 3,511
Summary: “One day you will find your real princess. One day you will be king of Camelot and I cannot be your queen.” Gwen spoke these words to Arthur with increasing despair, but little did either of them know that these words had been spoken before, by a similar-looking servant and to a familiar-looking prince. A slightly different perspective on “Sweet Dreams.”
A/N: Written for mancalahour for the merlin_santa exchange, who suggested a range of prompts including angst and fluff. I picked a bittersweet tone as a kind of compromise. I hope it's vaguely what she wanted.
The format of this fic is kind of experimental for me. This is my first ‘parallel stories’ fic, which also does not mention names of characters.
( History has a very funny way of repeating itself. )
